The Role

We are looking for an experienced employment lawyer who wants to have it all: High quality and interesting work, genuinely flexible and agile working, great colleagues, first-class support and freedom of working location.

About You

You’ll already be a successful senior solicitor in a leading practice, or maybe you work in-house. You’ll be an experienced employment lawyer, comfortable advising on range of issues including termination of employment, discrimination, whistleblowing and disciplinary issues as well as employment contracts, service agreements, team moves and post-termination restrictions.

We work for both employers and senior executives, but welcome applications from candidates with employer-only experience, as we have found this to be equally valuable to our employee client base.

Equally, you will have excellent technical ability, client care standards and interpersonal skills and be trusted as an advisor, capable of developing relationships with, and attracting work from, your clients.

About Bellevue Law

Bellevue Law is a commercial litigation and employment boutique founded five years ago to offer clients the quality and expertise of a City firm, cost-effectively.  Our lawyers are alumni of international firms including Allen & Overy, Dentons, Eversheds Sutherland, Freshfields and Withers.

We advise both employees and employers on a wide range of employment law issues, including:

  • Advising employers and board-level employees on contentious exits, including where the employee is a statutory director and/or shareholder;
  • Being brought in to advise on potential moves, including obligations to current employer or partners and the proposed terms of new contracts – we are regularly referred work in this area by City headhunters;
  • Advising employers and clients against whom allegations of underperformance or misconduct have been made – this almost inevitably leads to advising on terms of exit; and
  • Advising employers and employees on potential High Court injunctive proceedings in respect of alleged breaches of employees’ duties, including the misuse of confidential information and breach of post-termination restrictions.

In addition to winning our own work directly from clients, we are regularly referred work that requires a high-quality approach but cannot be performed cost-effectively by City and international firms as well as a network of peer boutique firms.

Finally, our clients like us: in a client survey conducted in November 2018, respondents gave us an average of 9.5/10 when asked how strongly they would recommend us to a friend or colleague.
