We are looking for an experienced Room Leader, to work in the 2 - 3 years room at Old Windsor

FULL-TIME 45 hours per week

COMPETITIVE SALARY! (Nursery privately owned)

Skills/Qualifications:

- Must hold a childcare qualification at level 3 or above

- Must possess a minimum of two years post-qualifying experience within an early years setting

Must have leadership experience

Must possess strong teamwork skills

Duties will include:

Safeguarding children and promoting their welfare at all times.

Working in partnership with and supporting the management team to ensure the daily running and administration of the nursery, adhering to the policies and procedures and compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted.

Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.

Supervising Nursery Nurses, Nursery Assistants, Lunch-time Assistants, students and volunteers.

Working as part of a team.

The planning of appropriate activities for the children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.

Keeping up to date with best practice within early years and ensuring that this is evident through high standards of education and care. Keeping of development records and observations.

Positive management of children’s behaviour. Forming and maintaining strong partnerships with parents and ensuring that regular feedback regarding children’s learning and development is shared.

Carrying out supervisory meetings where appropriate under the guidance of the Manager and Deputy Manager. Liaising with Senior staff in organising relevant staff, effective mentoring of junior staff, effective delegation and communication and promoting positive attitudes

Assisting with staff inductions and helping new staff to fit into the nursery.

Providing a good role model for Nursery Nurses, Nursery Assistants and Students.

Providing feedback whenever necessary to Senior Staff on issues relating to the nursery day.

Addressing staff and parent queries.

Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records.
