A leading international financial services company are looking for a Controls Accountant to join their finance function. You will be responsible for the control environment of the UK, and two overseas countries, as well as the regulatory controls and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adoption, review and progression of finance controls

• Work closely with all members of the finance team, reviewing and making recommendation on key processes

• Foster a climate of controls best practice with process notes, process flows and narratives in place where appropriate

• Lead the process of control documentation in line with regulatory requirements

• Define and develop mitigation activities for identified risks

• Lead and report attention points and action plans at committee meetings • Ongoing overview of regulation to ensure consistent compliance throughout the year

• Interview finance staff to prepare written narratives, findings and recommendations for internal controls and reviews

• Participate in the review and evaluation of existing and proposed internal controls to safeguard company assets and manage company liabilities

• Manage control self-assessment routines and communicating regularly with other markets to ensure best practice is shared and applied

• Support finance change management including a review of new projects

• Assist in the ongoing development of accounting processes and procedures under standards required by Group policy, practice and local regulation

• Prepare process maps to document key business processes, procedures and controls

• Engage with relevant stakeholders in the business, including operational risk teams, to ensure appropriate controls are considered for new projects and process documentation updated accordingly

The Successful Candidate:

You will be a part or fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)

You will be knowledgeable of control documentation and assessment, with previous experience in a controls environment desirable

You will have strong IT skills, including advanced excel skills

You will have some experience of change management You will have a restless curiosity of analytics and process improvement, with strong business acumen that is customer focused, and an action-oriented and resilient attitude
