Breedon on the Hill, Derby
Our client is a leading construction materials group in the UK and Ireland. They operate two cement plants, around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.
The group is currently looking for a Technical Administrator based at the Laboratory in Cloud Hill Quarry, Derby. Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be working within a multi-product environment and be responsible for maintaining the administrative function of the Technical Department and UKAS accredited laboratory.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Administration of the laboratory and the quality systems
- Ensuring the laboratory complies with the companies health and safety requirements
- Issuing laboratory test results to external customers
- Coordinating customer testing requirements
- Raising and processing purchase orders
- Assisting with monthly KPI reporting
- Maintenance of the companies laboratory and materials software
- Other ad-hoc duties as required for the efficient and smooth running of the Technical department
You will be required to communicate effectively with key stakeholders including credit control and commercial teams, ensuring great customer service.
You will ideally have previous experience of working in a busy administrative role. You must be highly organised, a strong team player and have the ability to manage relationships with a range of stakeholders. GCSE level Maths and English are required, along with excellent IT skills.
Experience in quality systems is desirable but not necessary. The laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
