Service Coordinator (Charity / Volunteer Management)

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Group Coordinator 
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire 
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 21 per week 
Salary: £11,166 actual per annum

About the role: 

The role is to plan, promote, coordinate and deliver Dementia Cafes in Lincolnshire, working with volunteers, local communities and agencies to raise awareness, increase reach and support more people living with dementia. The role includes recording and reporting on computer management systems. 

About you: 

Are you a people person, committed to the principles of dementia friendly communities? 

Are you inspired at the idea of enabling people affected by dementia to access information and support, participate in stimulating sessions and connect with people who share similar experiences? If the answer is ‘yes’ the Lincolnshire team has a role for you. As Group Coordinator you will plan, organise and facilitate groups which aim to inform, educate, and support those affected by dementia. Currently the role is running Dementia Cafes and working closely with the Singing for the Brain Group Coordinator, providing cover for annual leave / training etc. 

You will have an NVQ level 2 or equivalent and the skills and experience to: 

- Communicate effectively with people affected by dementia and all stakeholders 
- Engage and involve participants in the design and delivery of group sessions 
- Organize and facilitate groups 
- Maintain and monitor quality 
- Co-ordinate and role manage volunteers 
- Liaise with statutory and voluntary organizations 
- Update the Computer Record System
