The Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding Software business are looking to grow their Sales team with the addition of a Business Development Executive.

The Business Development Executive is responsible for the lead generation across the business. The role is not a high-volume sales role, it is a consultative sales process nurturing a small number of quality leads.

The role will be responsible for the co-ordination of all resources with regards to the delivery of Stage 1 meetings to the sales function. You will be making outbound business to business calls, utilising Salesforce CRM, researching online and maximising relationships within the business to develop an expanding funnel of prospects. As part of this role it is expected that there are several key areas of responsibility to manage the process and ensure appropriate oversight for the business;

This role offers the natural step into their field based Business Development Manager role in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Research / analysis of potential markets, clients for new product campaigns
  • Identifying and developing sales messages alongside Sales and Marketing functions
  • Researching and mapping potential client contacts and roles
  • Identifying and researching potential sales campaigns
  • Conduct pre-call planning and micro-marketing activities
  • Delivery of campaigns with a focus on quality
  • Tracking all campaigns to ensure they are fully co-ordinated and aligned
  • Feedback and analysis of messages / marketing to inform future campaigns
  • Tracking existing client’s activity to ensure opportunities aren’t missed
  • Establish initial contact with prospects via the telephone and email
  • Become a CRM "Super User" responsible for development and adoption of the system
  • Overall ownership of all data relating to lead generation in CRM system
  • Respond to enquiries and leads via telephone and email
  • Initiate and maintain contact with existing list of prospective clients and opportunities
  • Proactively nurture leads and enquiries through the early stages of the sales cycle
  • Deliver elevator pitch to prospective clients via outbound telephone activities
  • Book meetings, appointments and demonstrations on behalf of the Commercial Director and other senior representatives

The Qualifications

  • Degree educated, second class honours or above (essential)

Benefits:

  • Starting Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
  • £5K OTE
