Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor

ROCKWOOL are seeking an Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor to join their team. This role is full time, permanent and offers a competitive salary and excellent company benefits. The role will be based within the Factory site in Pencoed, Bridgend.

The purpose of this role is it to provide a proactive approach to managing the health risks associated with the workplace, to provide a proactive approach to improving the health of the company’s workforce, to ensure the company meets its statutory duty for management of health risks in the workplace and to assist management to minimise time lost due to accidents, sickness or ill health where practicable.

This is the role:

  • Post Offer risk based medical screening
  • Fitness to work screening post-accident or after illness
  • Return to work screening in conjunction with line management
  • Periodic medical examinations based upon statutory and risk assessment requirements
  • Conducting Health Surveillance/ annual health assessments
  • Health Risk assessment - noise, chemicals, dusts, fumes, vapours, ergonomics etc.
  • Driving Health Protection of workforce.
  • Workplace environment monitoring - noise, chemicals, dust, ergonomics etc.
  • Recording keeping and security of confidential records
  • Maintaining Medical Confidentiality always
  • Sickness absence management support for line managers
  • Advice and support to line management
  • Home visits in support of employees and the business
  • Advising management on legislative requirements
  • Workplace assessments in relation to persons affected by the workplace
  • To assist management to assess the capability of employees with regard the working environment and tasks being carried out by conducting risk assessments for specific situations regarding employees affected by aspects of the workplace.
  • To assist management in following company procedures regarding ill health and medical terminations.
  • Liaison with GPs and Consultants for medical reports and individual employee cases

This is what you offer:

  • General Qualification in nursing (RGN)
  • Specialist qualification in Occupational Health either degree or Masters level
  • Third part of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register designated "Specialist Practitioner in Community Health Nursing (Occupational Health)
  • Two years’ minimum experience in industry
