This is an excellent opportunity to join and a market leading International manufacturer as the UK Sales Manager / General Manager, with further prospects to be an integral part of the worldwide senior management team. The role will involve take responsibility for the office in the South of England, managing the External Sales Manager for the South and also involve managing and visiting key Accounts in the Northern region
This superb and interesting opportunity has been created with this market leading manufacturer of Precision Engineered Rotating Products for transferring fluids and gases such as water, air, heat transfer oils, hydraulics, coolants, air, gases for applications such as cooling, heating and lubricating of equipment, machines or rotating parts. Markets include Fluid Power, Machine Tools, Steel, Plastics, Manufacturing, Rubber Manufacturing, Paper Presses, printing, Packaging, Lubricants, Cooling, Heating, Casting Equipment, Process Equipment
This is an excellent opportunity to join and a market leading International manufacturer as the UK Sales Manager / General Manager. The role will involve take responsibility for the office in the South of England (small team of 5, an Office Manager/Accounts, 2 Customer Services Representatives, Internal Technical Sales Engineer and a Works Manager) and also managing the External Sales Manager for the South. The role will involve full P & L responsibility for the very profitable UK business which turns over £2.6 million.
The role will also involve managing and visiting key Accounts in the Northern region. The role will report into the Sales Director for Europe & Asia, who was the GM for the UK. current GM will them move into a new role with a European bias. A typical week will involve 1-2 days visiting customers, 1-2 days in the Southern office and 1-2 days working from home.
The split of the Account base is:- of 60% End User Accounts, 30% OEMs and 10% Distributors.
The position will be responsible for managing a very well established customer base with a huge amount of repeat business.
- Experienced in Sales in an engineering environment
- Good balance between sales, commercial and managerial skills
- Candidates need to be very self-motivated, personable and be able to manage a close team of people
- This is a product sales role, so it will suit an individual who is comfortable in that environment. It is not a capital equipment or large scale plant type of sell; however, it is still a very technical type of sell as the products will go on in to machinery.
- High mechanical and mathematical aptitude is important as would an interest in machinery and the way it operates
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings and other engineering documents.
- Ability to thrive in a high-tech continuous learning environment is critical.
- Ability to influence others
