Teaching Assistant - Cockfosters

A special educational needs school rated 'Good' by Ofsted are currently seeking a teaching assistant to begin on a part-time basis in January. The school support the education of students with autism and a range of complex needs. They currently cater to 95 pupils all of which have a statement of special educational needs between the ages of 7-19.

  • Encourage self-motivation and build on self-esteem

What the school look for?

To be considered for this part-time role, a teaching assistant must have an understanding of children with special educational needs. Being in an active learning environment teaching assistants will need to be proactive and use their own initiative in supporting their learning.

Skill set:

  • Previous experience supporting students in an SEN setting
  • Understanding of PECS and Makaton
  • Safeguarding trained
  • Provided 1:1 support and engaging group activity
  • Supported with ASC, SEMH, Down Syndrome
