Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger)

Position: Accounts Assistant - Purchase Ledger
Location: Sheffield
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 24 hours over 3 to 4 days
Salary: £15,000 to £16,000 per annum pro rata

About the role:

We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to manage the purchase ledger and assist the Finance Manager in providing day to day financial and management accounting for Abtech, ensuring accurate, timely and efficient delivery of Abtech products.


- Contribute to the Finance team to provide a complete finance service to the whole of the company
- Addressing all issues and providing all relevant information to meet internal and external demands
- Support and assist the Finance Manager in providing day to day financial and management accounting
- Ensure the effective every day running of the business through financial planning, managing financial risk and enabling business growth

About you:

- Experience of working with purchase ledgers and within a finance department
- GCSE’s or equivalent including maths and English, Grade A- C
- AAT certificate or related accountancy qualification
- Strong communication and listening skills, both face to face and over the telephone
- Basic knowledge and understanding of finance processes and procedures
- Knowledge of purchase ledger; purchase sales ledger
- Awareness of the Data Protection Act
- Previous experience of working in an office environment, ideally within a finance or accounts department
- Previous experience of working in an administrative role
- Good knowledge of IT
- The ability to work flexible hours, on occasions when required
