We are currently recruiting staff to join our teams in Bracknell supporting young adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties. You will be working either 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 with the young people in their own homes as part of the team providing 24/7 care and support and within the community. The role will involve some sleeping nights plus working alternate weekends on a rota basis.
The role will involve supporting the young people in developing existing interests and hobbies and encouraging them to try new activities. You will oversee the administration of medication and assist in providing healthy and nutritious meals, monitoring their health and well-being.
You will require immense patience and a calm manner plus a sense of humour. Our young people are affectionate, engaging with a great sense of mischief and fun. Our young people exhibit a wide range of complex behaviours and often struggle with fear and anxiety, then can get easily upset if they lose confidence in their carer’s and can be unpredictable. So it’s important that staff can create and maintain a safe and consistent environment as this is essential to the role.
Our young people have some independent living skills but the role requires a lot of prompting and motivation to maintain their personal hygiene and increase their independence.
We offer full training and induction package which will give you the skills to fulfil this exciting and rewarding role. Qualifications in health and social care are desirable but not essential as we would help you to achieve these qualifications.
If you feel that you have the right skills or you would be interested in joining a great team with wonderful service users we would love to hear from you. We pay a competitive salary depending on experience and qualifications and would encourage applications from both male candidates and female candidates. Drivers with a clean licence desirable. All offers of employment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and satisfactory references.
