We are pleased to be supporting one of the UK's largest PE houses in their search for a Financial Controller for recently acquired and highly profitable business based in Bradford.

Client Details

The client is a highly profitable manufacturer of niche consumer products. They have undergone significant growth - hence the PE investment - and are now looking to bolster the finance funtion with a high calibre FC.


Financial Controller

Control of the finance and accounting function of all UK entities including: co-ordination and preparation of the monthly management accounts and ensuring any issues of importance are highlighted to the relevant Divisional Finance Director, GMs and private equity owners. This will also involve the running of the accounts department ensuring that the necessary skills are available and training given as required.

To ensure that financial accounts are prepared annually for review with the relevant divisional Finance Director / GM and highlight any issues that arise.

To co-ordinate the preparation of financial information and statistics regarding the performance of the company, as required for management control purposes.

To keep alert to financial and economic change, and to current and impending financial legislation, which is relevant to the company's existing or planned operations world-wide.

To manage, control and notify the private equity owners of any uncommitted funds and ensure effective control of working capital is exercised over the company.

To exercise adequate financial controls over all operations of the company, and to ensure that Corporate Governance measures are correctly implemented and monitored.

Responsibility for accounting systems within the company, ensuring continued improvements are made and discussed with the appropriate divisional Finance Director, including developing enhanced computer systems under the direction of the Finance Director.

Assist Group accounting functions in the audit of subsidiaries as required.

Assist in preparation of annual budgets and QPR'S.

Preparations of year end reporting packs and local statutory financial reports and ensure audits are carried out.


The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an FC in a PE-backed business (not essential)

Strong people manager with the ability to improve and develop a finance function

High degree of personal gravitas with the ability to engender the confidence of the PE owners

Job Offer

£55,000 - £65,000 bonus
