Care taker role for this education centre, required for 12 hours per week - mainly term time, possible opportunity for some work at weekends and in the school holidays if required.

Ideal hours are Monday & Wednesday 8.30am – 12.30pm, Friday 1.00pm – 5.00pm
although this can be adjusted accordingly, and more available if required.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Care taker to join us at our busy Environmental Education Centre, based in Peterborough.
With years of experience, join this small and friendly team of staff that welcome up to 300 children each week as both day and residential visitors, as well as families and recreational groups at weekends and in the holidays.

As Care taker,you will to oversee the maintenance and security of the buildings and grounds and to service the needs of the varied clients who visit and stay at the Centre.
The Care taker role will involve preparing, maintaining and developing the facilities to support the smooth running of the Centre and contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.

Care taker -The role

-Setting up of meeting rooms for both Education and Private hire, inc moving of furniture and setting up equipment
-monitoring the general upkeep of buildings, inc furniture and equipment.
-Carry out maintenance and repairs.
-Operate heating systems
-monitor plumbing and repairs accordingly.
-Overseeing all works within the centre including contractors where applicable.
-Ensuring all health and safety issues are addressed.
-Seeking a Care taker who is flexible, able to work on their own initiative and will enjoy helping to ensure a high standard of facilities that support the delivery of memorable experiences for visitors.
-Working with site manager to ensure all risk assessments are kept up to date.

Care take- Required experience.

-At least two years as a care taker previously.
-Able to work a minimum of 12/14 hours per week (as outlined)
-Flexible and able to support on occasions outside of contracted hours.
-Expedience and knowledge of plumbing and heating systems.
-Able to lift and carry accordingly in line with room set ups etc.
-Live locally or a driver with own car.
-Can do attitude.

You will have Good communication skills with colleagues and contractors are essential to the role and experience of property maintenance would be beneficial.

Working times will be discussed at interview and flexibility may be considered to accommodate preferred candidates as appropriate to the role.

The Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check.
