Every day, 12 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, and provides them with clinical, practical, emotional and financial support.

Position: Young Peoples Social Worker
Location: Nottingham, Queen's Medical Centre
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Salary: £33,755 per annum (FTE)

About the role:

This Young People Social Worker will provide a direct social work service to young people aged 16-24 with cancer who live in and around the surrounding areas. You can be a part of helping them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced professional, qualified in social work with knowledge and experience around this specialist area of work.

As well as current HCPC registration you will have:

- Significant experience of working young people and their families / carers in a social care setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Knowledge of child and young people development
- An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and families
- It is desirable that you have experience working in an NHS setting
