Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust are seeking to appoint Physician Associates in Emergency Medicine. The posts will suit enthusiastic, innovative clinicians with a vision to deliver excellent emergency healthcare as part of our service. This post offers the opportunity to join the Trust as part of our Emergency Department (ED). Based at Broomfield Hospital, the post-holders will be key members of the ED Team with a clear role in ensuring comprehensive care for their patients. The successful candidates will join the multi-disciplinary staff in providing comprehensive care for patients in A&E majors, minors, resus and high dependency (HDU) area, paediatric emergency unit and the Clinical Decision unit (CDU). The successful applicants will join a team of established PAs working in the Medical division and the Emergency Department. They will join in with their weekly PA specific teaching.
Essex was selected to be one of 3 areas to benefit from intensive support to develop new ways of working. This project is now well under way and is likely to influence significantly how acute services are delivered across the region. There are 3 acute hospital Trusts, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust. This will undoubtedly involve all services to some degree in the future, and the appointees to these posts must assume that in due course of time they may be asked to work on different sites across South and Mid Essex. MEHT contracts are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.
All Registered Nurse/Midwife/Theatre Practitioner or ODP you will be required to take a Drug Calculation Test. (please note 100% pass mark required)
All HCA/HCSW/MCA will be required to take a Literacy and Numeracy test (80% pass required) as part of the pre employment process.
