Job Title: Senior Payroll Administrator (Maternity Cover)

Contract: Full Time, Fixed term - 12 months

Salary: £22,400 - £27,000

Location: Cambridge

What it's about:

We're looking for an enthusiastic Senior Payroll Administrator to join our friendly, established and supportive payroll team based in Cambridge. As a Senior Payroll Administrator you will need to ensure that the UK payroll is processed accurately and on time, as well as continually driving process improvements. You will have a confident, positive attitude with good organisational and time management skills.

What you'll be doing:

You will:
  • Be a point of contact for key stakeholders in the business and process the UK payroll.
  • Continually review existing UK processes and systems with a view to actively identify process improvements and ensure best practice.
  • Ensure accurate UK statutory staff payroll compliance, including calculation and reporting of all key components of UK staff payroll.
  • Ensure accurate UK pension reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the internal and external payroll audit requirements including working collaboratively with the wider finance team.
  • Provide advice on UK payroll-related matters, responding to queries and working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure customer service KPI's are met and payroll accuracy is ensured.
  • Support any UK payroll related projects.

What we're looking for:
  • Educated to at least A-level standard (or equivalent).
  • CIPP Diploma or equivalent organisation (desirable).
  • In-depth knowledge of UK legislation relating to payroll and pensions.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines as well as be able to manage your own time effectively.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of UK pension schemes, preferably USS.
  • Experience of working closely with HR teams.
  • High attention to detail required, with the ability to communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders across the business.
  • Demonstrates a high level of ownership, integrity, accountability, and time management.
  • Comfortable dealing autonomously with technical issues often in short timeframes.
  • Drive best practice through continuous process improvement.
