Service Development Officer 

Salary: £23,960 to £29,284 per annum 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 hours per week 
Location: South Manchester

About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Service Development, the Service Development Officer will provide support across the Customer Services Directorate to deliver practical, evidence-based business improvements in collaboration with operational teams, making use of customer and business insight and working within the Great Places change methodology. 

You will support the development of a high performance culture focussed on excellent customer service, business need and continuous improvement. 

Work with operational teams within the Customer Services Directorate to improve processes, efficiency and effectiveness in support of the Directorate improvement plan and business objectives through the application of the Great Places change methodology. Provide effective challenge of performance, behaviours, and systems based on evidence and business / customer insight. Work to understand and tackle the root causes of issues to support continuous improvement and cultural change. 

About You: 

The successful candidate will be qualified to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths and ideally hold relevant professional qualifications / memberships (Institute of Customer Service qualification, CIH qualification). You should have experience of using change methodology and delivering change projects and experience of working in housing or property management sectors with knowledge of performance, policy and strategic issues within the housing sector. 

You will have experience of collating information in an organised and planned way and analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and patterns and effective use of data to demonstrate service inefficiencies and improvements. 

Excellent IT skills are needed including creating, maintaining and manipulating databases and spreadsheets, with a good working knowledge of systems and databases used in the Housing sector. You should have the ability to translate information into concise, appropriate and accessible reports for a range of audiences. 

You should be available to work flexibly and when needed outside normal working hours, with a full driving license and access to a car for use at work. 

You may have experience of the following: Service Development Officer, Service Delivery Officer, Business Development Officer, Project Manager, Project Management, Housing Liaison Officer, Home Allocation, Project Officer Housing Assistant, Planner, Planning Officer, Conservation, Regeneration, Customer Service, Customer Service Officer, Housing Association etc
