Job Title: Administrator - Assessment Processing

Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (12 months)

Salary: £19,600 - £24,500

What it's about

OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations) is a leading UK exam board, dedicated to recognising achievement in learners of all ages, offering range of qualifications for learners of all ages, abilities and needs.
Operations manages the processing of OCR's assessment and qualification data, as well as coordinating a range of services for both internal and external customers.

What you'll be doing

The work in our team is varied and could involve any of the following activities:
  • Investigating outstanding examination scripts though close working with examination centres and our 3rd parties
  • Supporting all of our assessment processing tasks when needed
  • Data entry and associated quality checking
  • Supervising temporary staff in peak processing periods
  • Supporting our post-results services, such as Review of marking and moderation (ROMMs)
  • Involvement with the on-going review and enhancement of our systems and processes
  • Dealing with administrative enquiries direct from both examination centres and customers

What we're looking for

  • Numeracy skills - is able to interpret data comfortably.
  • Literacy skills

  • Able to apply knowledge of role and area in order to make sound business decisions and escalate where appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus are essential.
  • Able to use software packages to produce appropriate material
  • Confident working in a busy environment, dealing with customers over the telephone or by email, and be good at managing your own time.
  • Highly motivated administrator, with good MS Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for detail as well as being a fast learner.
  • Organised, flexible and able to keep to tight deadlines under pressure.

  • OCR's processing systems - must understand the cause and effect of processing steps (desirable)
  • Specifications - must understand the structure, business rules and the regulatory context that govern their operation
  • Accurate with data when using Microsoft Excel and Word, or other internal systems.

  • 'Can do' attitude - determined and resourceful in order to deliver the best results for the business within the agreed timescales and resources.
  • Accurate and efficient - strives to work to the highest levels possible at all times.
  • Flexible and adaptable - can take on board new ideas and concepts quickly and easily
  • Collaborative - able to work effectively and inclusively with a range of people, both internal and external to the business
