Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (6 months)

What it's about

The role of Compliance Assistant Manager is to work across the Risk and Compliance department, providing management data and investigating cases where candidates, teachers and/or centres are suspected of malpractice. The role is key to ensuring that OCR remains compliant with the Ofqual Conditions of Recognition.

What you'll be doing

This role encompasses a range of tasks and responsibilities. Reporting to a Senior Compliance Manager, you will:
  • Investigate and make decisions on the most complex and difficult cases of suspected malpractice, according to OCR and JCQ procedures.
  • Manipulate and prepare data for internal and external reports.
  • Act as a point of escalation thus supporting more junior members of the team.
  • Advise centres and others on malpractice processes and outcomes.
  • Prepare papers for Malpractice Committee hearings.
  • Investigate and make decisions on academic appeals in line with JCQ procedures and the Conditions of Recognition
  • Make decisions on malpractice appeals which have been delegated to officers.

The successful candidate should have experience of working in a busy environment; interrogating and manipulating data to produce reports; and working under pressure to demanding deadlines. Ideally you will also have experience of working in an investigative and/or educational environment. Qualifications
  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)

Skills
  • Excellent data management and interpretation skills
  • Ability to investigate, analyse and interpret information whilst maintaining impartiality when dealing with investigations
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High standard of spoken and written English

Experience
  • Experience of managing complex processes and making decisions
  • Experience of working well in a complex and busy environment
  • Experience of working in an investigatory or educational field (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role (desirable)
