Job Title: Compliance Officer

Contract: Fixed-Term, Full-time (12 months Maternity Cover)

Salary: £22,400 - £30,300

What it's about

This is a 12 month fixed term maternity cover. This is a varied, interesting and responsible role to support the work of OCR's complaints system and the Compliance Team by co-ordinating the Complaints Hub, assisting with the improvements to the management of complaints, maintaining schedules of work and records, providing accurate data and follow up to complaints, regulatory enquiries and compliance issues.

In addition you will investigate and make decisions on issues of malpractice related to OCR qualifications in accordance with established procedures and support the work of the Regulatory Liaison Officer.

What you'll be doing

Complaints
  • Co-ordinating OCR's Complaints Hub.
  • Supporting and promoting OCR's Complaints process.
  • Supporting the training and development of the Complaints Co-ordinators and OCR staff.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of the management and performance of the complaints process and, where appropriate, recommend improvements and relevant actions to be taken.
  • Providing timely and accurate information and analysis for draft correspondence, papers, reports, audits, projects, issues of compliance/malpractice and improvements.

Malpractice
  • Investigate and make decisions on issues of malpractice related to OCR qualifications in accordance with established procedures.
  • Extract data from OCR systems and files and review/provide it for investigations into cases of suspected non-compliance and/or malpractice.
  • Liaise with centres to provide and obtain information relating to on-going investigations.
  • Inform relevant parties of progress and outcome of malpractice/compliance investigations.
  • Deal with enquiries from internal and external customers, providing guidance and advice on malpractice/compliance matters.

Regulatory Transactions
  • Supporting the work of the Regulatory Liaison Officer in logging regulatory transactions
  • Cascading and allocating all incoming regulatory transactions to OCR senior officers when required
  • Supporting the business in managing requests from the regulator e.g. audits and consultations when required.


What we're looking for

Qualifications
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent experience.

Skills
  • The ability to manage yourself and your workload effectively whilst working accurately in order to meet tight deadlines is essential.
  • The right applicant will have excellent administrative, written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

Experience
  • Experience of working in a busy office, a regulated environment, with different teams and at all levels within an organisation is essential to this role.
