MBNA Thames Clippers, part of AEG Europe, are London's leading River Bus service. Our fleet of high speed catamarans provide commuters and sightseers with a unique way to travel around the capital. We carry over 4 million passengers a year and employ over 320 staff. 

Position: Catering Manager 
Location: London E14 0JY 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 42 per week Monday to Sunday 
Salary: £31,766 a year, plus benefits

About the role: 

As Catering Manager at MBNA Thames Clippers you will work with and make sure each Supervisor and Barista has everything they need in order to carry out their duties safely, effectively and deliver a world class customer experience. 


- Responsible for the day to day ownership of the operational management and financial performance of the Catering Operations department. 
- Responsible for the recruitment, retention, management and development of a team of Duty Managers, Supervisors and Barista’s, providing inspirational leadership. 
- Ensuring the department complies with all relevant HACCP procedures and legislation, following best practice principals to deliver a consistent standard of ‘world class’ customer service. 
- Conducting and maintaining accurate audits of all equipment, absence and lateness, holiday, staff performance, uniform and food hygiene standards and manage individual performance accordingly. 
- Maximising sales opportunities and minimising losses through the implementation of robust processes and procedures for all activities from stock ordering through to on board sales. 

About you: 

- We are looking for someone with experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality, customer service or retail sector. 
- Previous, relevant involvement in managing a full P&L and complex sales operation with measured success. 
- You will be a natural leader with experience in and a passion for motivating and managing a diverse and transient workforce and be able to get the best out of them on a daily basis. 
- Strong communication skills are important as well as the ability to build good working relationships with your team and internal departments. 
- You must have a genuine desire and ability to work with the public in a front line, customer focused environment, maintaining empathy even when under pressure. 
- A team player with a positive attitude to work, you will be committed and flexible in your approach to work and a competent user of Word, Excel and other Microsoft packages. 

Where: You’ll be based out an about either on our boats or at North Greenwich pier for a majority of the time. But don’t worry; we’ll give you a full uniform to protect you from the British weather!
