What it's about

The Catering Floor Manager is responsible for assisting the management of high quality catering service offered at Cambridge Assessment, supporting and contributing to continuous improvements to the department and providing excellent customer service to staff and visitors.

What you'll be doing
  • Ensuring that all service and presentation standards within the catering are adhered to and maintained at all times
  • Managing and assisting with the preparation of grab & go items and service of all food & beverage and maintenance of high quality food and hygiene standards.
  • Providing on the floor management and "hands on" support to the catering team during all service times.
  • Working alongside the Group catering manager to liaise with the events executives, business streams and event organisers to provide high quality catering support for internal & external events.
  • Management of "front of house" catering staff in delivering excellent customer service, presentation standard and consistency. Troubleshoot and provide ad hoc solutions to ensure the consistency of catering services.
  • Responsibility for recruitment of catering service staff
  • Responsibility for management of the Systopia cashless system including weekly cash ups.
  • Deputising for Group Catering Manager in their absence in matters relating to food service & customer support to ensure a seamless service.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and overall presentation of staff and premises to ensure that the Catering Department's reputation is maintained.
  • Comply with Group Values and Departmental Competencies framework. Comply to all internal procedures and policies and legislative compliance such as Health and Safety, Fire Policy, Uniform policy and Food Hygiene Regulations including HACCP and CA Food Safety policy.

What we're looking for

  • Level 3: supervising Food Hygiene qualifications or willing to take it within 1 month of appointment.
  • Customer service qualification such as NVQ highly desirable

  • Previous experience of working in the catering industry as food handler and with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a similar establishment is preferable.
  • Previous experience in front and back of house roles highly desirable.
  • Customer service experience preferably within high quality catering/hotel establishment in customer facing position/s
  • Dealing with administration tasks
