Our client, who is an online distribution company are looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to develop their purchasing team as part of their ambitious growth strategy.

As a Buyer, you will be required to complete the following duties:

  • Ordering stock from domestic and international suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and prices and drive improvements in supplier performance
  • Occasional international travel to meet and negotiate with suppliers
  • Maintain effective supplier relations and communication to ensure timely shipment of orders and product quality expectations are met
  • Lead specific sourcing projects across both domestic and international lines of supply
  • Assist purchasing department in various other duties as required

Essential skills of a Buyer:

  • At least 2 years’ experience of working a purchasing role
  • Previous experience in negotiation and supplier relationships
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of supply chain
  • Ability to analyse data and reports using MS Excel
  • Experience of using ERP software
  • Experience of sourcing new products
  • Experience of the home appliance industry/wholesale would be advantageous
