Position: Dementia Support Manager 
Location: Exeter Office (commutable from Exmouth, Sidmouth, Cowley and surrounding areas) 
Contract type: Part time, Permanent 
Hours: 28 per week 
Salary: £17,706 actual per annum

About the role: 

We have a vacancy for a Dementia Support Manager to cover an absence of up to 3 months. Reporting to the Services Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Dementia Advisers, Dementia Adviser volunteers and Peer Support Group Facilitators. The team operates as part of the Devon and Torbay Dementia Adviser which is commissioned to provide information and support to people diagnosed with dementia and their carers over the phone and in person. 

The Dementia Advisers operate the Single Point of Access into the Service which provides phone based information and support to people with a diagnosis of dementia and/or carers. The Peer Support Group Facilitators provide education courses to people who have recently received a diagnosis of dementia and/or carers across the County. 
In the role you will: 

- Oversee and manage referrals into the service, 
- Oversee the caseloads of your team, 
- Provide leadership, support and professional development to your team, 
- Manage demand and planning for Education courses across the County 
- Work with Dementia Support Managers and Dementia Support Workers to ensure a smooth transition for individuals who require face to face support 
- Be part of the management team for Devon and Torbay, ensuring the service is led and delivered to Society quality standards and the requirements of our contract 
- Oversee the CrISP 2 pilot being delivered in Torbay 

About you: 

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about providing high quality services to meet the needs of people with dementia and their carer. To be successful in this role you will have: 

- A relevant NVQ Level 4 or equivalent skills and experience. 
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships across a spectrum of statutory and voluntary organisations, communities and individuals 
- Excellent organization and time management skills, prioritizing and adhering to targets set and finding solutions to problems 
- Ability to work well within a busy service environment 
- An understanding of dementia and the needs of people with dementia and their carers 
- Management experience and experience of leading a team 
- Experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies 
- Experience of record keeping and report writing 
- Local area knowledge 
- The ability to work independently and part of a team 
- Able and willing to travel independently
