Why is our VP Strategic Partnerships role the next step for you?
The Commercial Development team is responsible for the strategic growth programmes for the UK / Europe line of business, which includes growing our core book of SME customers, optimising how we go to market, identifying new opportunities in the market and finding / growing strategic partnerships.

Today, the strategic partnerships team drives distribution through third party channels by incentivising partners to generate leads and sales for Worldpay. As we look ahead, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced commercial leader who can help further build out this team to find and drive partnerships that are more strategic, integrated and reciprocal in nature (e.g. building out joint value propositions.)

How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
As part of the UK and Europe Commercial Development team, you will take responsibility for building and running a market-leading Strategic Partnerships team. This will include direct responsibility for our largest strategic partners as well as managing, coaching and mentoring an overall team of ~20 FTE and a budget of in excess of £50M.

You will provide hands-on support to your team, and develop the Business Development and Key Account Management capabilities in the team. You will be responsible for building out partnership support functions, including bid management and partner operations. You will have frequent contact with internal stakeholders at executive and leadership levels to support the success of your team, including collaborating with Sales Operations, Finance, Product and Operations.

In this role you will also actively develop long-term partnerships with senior partner contacts and build a deep understanding of their business including their broader 2-3 year business agendas. You will act as a point of escalation for all partners and drive overall relationship health, developing joint cross-sell opportunities and incentive programmes.

What will make you the ideal candidate?
You will have at least 5 years’ experience leading a team. You will have experience building a team, and the commercial acumen to build out a case for investment / growth in this channel partner sales team. You will also be able to demonstrate hands on experience managing strategic partner relationships directly.

Ideally you will have a payments background although this is not essential.
