Teaching Assistant - All Experience Levels Welcome
TEACHING ASSISTANT Permanent 35 hours Affinity Workforce Solutions are currently recruiting for calm, robust and resilient Teaching Assistant to working within an Autism Specialist School in the Surrey Hills area just outside of Guildford. The school caters for students from ages 7 through to 16, and they also have a Post 16 Unit / College for students who wish to continue their education on the same site. The current vacancies are all based within the main school and are across the Key Stages.
The school itself is situated in 56 acres of wooded grounds with ample space for recreational activities. They are able to offer an extensive range of GCSE subjects which they pitch at individual students' levels, and the curriculum is very fluid, changing with the interests and skills of each year group. Alongside this the school has an in-house team of qualified therapists who support the children with Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration. The therapeutic support coupled with the fantastic education team enables the pupils to access the curriculum at an appropriate level and allows them to achieve their full potential.
The school has also achieved Advanced Autism Accreditation, the prestigious Arts Council 'Artsmark' Silver Award and holds the National Healthy School status.
All students at the school have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition however, the students may also have other Special Educational Needs including;
- Speech, Language & Communication Difficulties
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health Difficulties
- Specific Learning Difficulties including;
- Moderate Learning Difficulties
