Your role in your new job

This role sits as number 1 in finance on site, being a key member of the senior management team. This Financial Controller position reports to the MD although support will be available from their Group FC who is located in another region.

As Financial Controller, you will enjoy an autonomous role with strong involvement in providing strategic support, but given the size of the team you will remain a hands on remit in routine accounting duties. Managing a small finance team, you will take ownership of all financial reporting; lead the external audit process; produce budgets and cash flow forecasts, and manage working capital. Whilst all processes are in place, there are areas for enhancement so you will be responsible for identifying and implementing improved efficiencies. You will also act as a key player in their upcoming ERP system implementation.

Your experience and our requirements

Full qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) is essential, ideally with knowledge of a manufacturing/product based operation. Staff management experience with a proven track record of developing a finance function is required. Experience of ERP implementation is desirable, and you must be able to demonstrate strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate complex spreadsheets. Group level reporting is also advantageous and you will be able to advise and influence at all levels within a forward-thinking business.
