An exciting opportunity has become available to join the busy phlebotomy department as a phlebotomy coordinator. This is a forward thinking role and a great deal of flexibility is required to deal with some unpredictable situations across multiple sites that arise Monday to Sunday.
The post holder coordinates and leads a group of phlebotomists and support phlebotomists to provide effective phlebotomy service. The role co-ordinates the activities of the routine blood collection service across outpatient areas, inpatient wards, GP Surgeries and community clinics and oversees the provision of an extensive home blood collection Domiciliary service. The post holder effectively manages contingencies that arise during the day to day running of phlebotomy services to ensure delivery of service. In addition they work to assist in design and delivery of the phlebotomy training and induction programme.
They also co-ordinate the stock and non-stock ordering for phlebotomy and represent the department at meetings helping to promote good working relationships across internal and external boundaries, as well as being the first point of contact for phlebotomy for any day-to-day problems that arise
You will need to be a car driver and have access to car at all times to be effective in your role.
