What it's about

The Cambridge English Customer Services Systems Support and Development team (SSD) requires a Systems Support Specialist. The post will be based within the Customer Services group at The Triangle building in Cambridge.

What you'll be doing

The main duty will be to provide support to staff for bespoke software and other off -the-shelf applications as required. It may also be necessary to provide training and the production of associated training materials as required.

What we're looking for

You will perform the role of power user/systems administrator and will be required to conduct UAT testing as well as basic administrative functions such as setting-up reference data and organising training courses, etc.

  • Educated to degree level

  • Be very comfortable with technology
  • Crucially, you will need to be able to demonstrate a proven ability to master complex software applications and have a problem-solving mind.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with users at all ability levels is essential, as is being able to understand new applications quickly and to transfer that knowledge to end users efficiently.
  • Excellent customer focus and organisational skills and be able to handle multiple projects and to work under pressure to demanding deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills, demonstrate attention to detail and be able to work well in a close-knit team.

  • Experience of using LIBS, Metrica or SharePoint would be an advantage (although full training will be provided)
  • Experience of providing software support, training and/or teaching and customer service is also very desirable.

  • Positive attitude
