We are currently looking to recruit a band 6 Charge Nurse to join our team. We have developed our ward to become the first dedicated fragility fracture neck of femur ward in Scotland.
Ward 31 is a 23 bedded ward. We are a very busy ward with a predominately high number of frail elderly patients, some of which suffer from delirium or dementia. Many of these patients suffer from acute medical issues.
You will be joining a well motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care possible. You will have evidence of strong clinical leadership skills and be able to provide support to the Senior Charge Nurse and the rest of the nursing team.

You should be a forward thinking individual. Previous orthopaedic experience would be advantageous. Experience or an interest in delivering patient centred care to patients with dementia would also be an advantage. You should be able to work well under pressure and be able to cope with the constant demands of a busy ward environment. Extended clinical skills would be desirable. i.e. be proficient in Venepuncture, Cannulation, Male/Female catheterisation, ECG skills, Syringe Drivers, IV Antibiotics.
You will be able to provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to a nursing team for the purpose of achieving a key result. You will be able to positively facilitate and coordinate the activities of the team.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, embrace change and deliver excellent patient centred care always. You should have evidence of having completed a leadership programme.

Clinical supervision will be available to the successful candidate.

This post will require you to rotate through day shift, night shift, twilight hours and work a variety of shifts patterns to meet the needs of the service.
