The role

We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic Health & Safety team based at our Support Centre in Watford.

The successful candidate will be joining a friendly team of eight, working alongside one other Coordinator responsible for providing first line support to the department.

In this role you will play a crucial part within the function, providing essential support to the operation and Medivet colleagues out in the field.

Previous H&S experience or IOSH would be an advantage but not essential.

Key accountabilities
  • Manage the H&S inbox, answering and distributing queries accordingly
  • Act as the first line of support to the departments stakeholders via phone, email and our system, Fresh Service
  • Monitor H&S appointed movers, starters and leavers, ensuring replacements are identified and suitably trained
  • Manage and maintain internal software systems
  • Support and assist the Regional Health & Fire Safety Practitioners with the completion of new acquisition workflow and various H&S tasks including risk assessments and personal evacuation plans
  • Ensure maintenance actions from reports are uploaded onto system, supporting the practices ensuring tasks are completed sufficiently within the set timeframes
  • Actively monitor H&S compliance performance across the organisation including controlled drugs codes, fire alarm test, emergency lighting test, audit actions, new expect mother risk assessments, DSE assessments etc.
  • Ensure employee health surveillance monitoring is undertaken across the organisation and results are monitored and investigated where necessary
  • Ensure completion of all online/external training courses and inductions within the set timeframes, ensuring full and accurate records are maintained
  • Manage pre-employment health checks and risk assessments
  • Conduct and or monitor H&S compliance duties for the Support Centre South & North.
  • Manage the accident and incident software system, answering and distributing queries accordingly and supporting the department with investigations
  • Preparation of agendas, minute taking and distribution and monitoring of specific tasks
  • Maintain department intranet pages, ensuring information is relevant, up-to-date and user friendly
  • Ensure the relevant practice documentation is updated
