What it's about

The Research Division conducts and publishes authoritative research in order to improve and develop Cambridge Assessment's products and services, and to influence thinking and policy on education, curriculum and assessment. We research a wide range of issues working with colleagues across the Group and in partnerships, particularly with Cambridge University Press, to provide a sound evidence base for education products and services.

We are currently looking for a Research Officer for approximately 6 months starting as soon as possible. The vacancy has arisen as a colleague will be on secondment.

The role involves working on research projects relating to education, qualifications and curriculum.

What you'll be doing

Your principal accountabilities will be to:
  • Use professional knowledge of research design, method and literature in education, qualifications, curriculum and assessment.
  • Design and conduct substantial qualitative and quantitative research projects.
  • Conduct appropriate qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Exercise professional independence and creativity.
  • Produce reports, research papers, and presentations of publishable quality.
  • Provide specialist technical support as requested.
  • Supervise junior researchers as needed.
  • Work within relevant procedures and to deadlines within fast-paced, evolving and fluid situations.
  • Administer current projects.
  • Provide policy advice as necessary.
  • Work with a variety of colleagues, stakeholders and clients.

What we're looking for

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Psychology or another Social Science including a quantitative and qualitative research element.

Skills and behaviours
  • Knowledge of research design and methods

  • Practical skills in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Ability to write research papers and reports of publishable quality.
