What it's about

We are looking for an Operations Team Leader to lead a team of administrators and to support the delivery of Cambridge Assessment International Education's assessments, ensuring we achieve the overarching goal of providing the right grade, first time, on time, every time.

As an Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for the delivery of operational processes to agreed schedules, assure quality & standards, and propose and implement process improvements, helping us make a difference for every learner.

What you'll be doing

Your skills as a people manager are key as you will supervise your team in delivering business processes, whilst proactively monitoring their performance standards, engaging and facilitating their professional development and safeguarding the team's general wellbeing.

Business change is part of the routine and to help us continually improve, you will assist in the design and delivery of improvement projects and participate in their implementation. You will contribute to each post exam series review, record and share lessons learned and implement procedural changes, providing an end-to-end view of the impacts of such changes to colleagues and senior managers.

You will be responsible for the recording of operational issues and risks on appropriate registers, identifying suitable corrective actions and their implementation.

Overall, you will commit to the Exam Processing team's ethos of leading by example, encouraging trust and open lines of communication to create a positive environment for both colleagues and customers. If you are up for the challenge, read on and apply!

What we're looking for:

  • Ability to review processes critically and challenge the 'status quo'.
  • Demonstrable financial and commercial awareness.
  • Good prioritisation and time-management skills.
  • Eye for accuracy.
  • Min 5 GCSE at grade A-C, or equivalent, including Maths and English, is essential, and A Level standard education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proficient user of Windows and MS Office tools
  • Experience in a busy office/administration role.
  • People management experience.
  • Excellent business communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Knowledge of EPS, SAP or similar databases.
  • Experience of working in customer facing roles.
  • Experience within user acceptance testing and process change management.

  • Treats own mistakes as a learning opportunity and is open about them to aid themselves and team members.
  • Flexible and willing to embrace regular changes in working practice and pattern which may involve hot-desking or working extended hours to handle peaks or issues.
