A newly created permanent Credit Manager role, working within a large commercial business based in the Coventry area.

This is a pivotal role within the finance function, focusing on team leadership, effective credit management and process improvement.

The role of Credit Control Manager will cover a variety of duties including:
  • Lead and provide day to day management of the Credit Control team in Coventry
  • Build and develop excellent relationships with key stakeholders within the business, ensuring compliance with agreed KPIs and targets
  • Ensure continuity of cash collection and undertake debt reduction to agreed targets
  • Achieve excellent customer service; having a flexible approach to customer issues; adding value through continuous improvement of processes
  • Aid with cash flow forecasting and rigorously measure the collection performance against forecast
  • Be actively involved in recruitment, performance development and talent development of your team
  • Engage with the finance and operational colleagues to implement and maintain robust collection procedures and processes and to work to address risk to minimise bad debts
  • Identify training and development needs to ensure the continual development of the team
  • Document and maintain all Sales Ledger processes; reviewing regularly within the context of the wider business and communicate changes on a regular basis
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and management reporting
  • Work with 3rd parties and work within any dispute resolution processes to enhance cash collection
  • Engage with operational and management accounting colleagues to assist in resolution of disputes and escalated accounts to resolve late payment


The successful candidate will ideally possess a combination of the following key skills and experience:
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Previous experience in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a diverse organisation and building positive relationships across the organisation
  • Demonstration of the development of high performing teams
  • Excellent customer service (internal and external) and focused on delivery of both financial and service targets
  • Strong ability to lead, organise and motivate a team
  • Strong relationship builder across diverse ranges of people
  • Good Excel skills
  • Challenges the status quo, identifies new opportunities and delivers innovative solutions
