Hays Education are currently working on behalf of central Birmingham secondary school to recruit for a Maths teacher for a full time, permanent position. The role is offered with a start date of September 2019 however an earlier start date can be negotiated. Informal meetings and a tour of the school is welcomed and can be arranged directly through Hays Education.

Your new school
This school converted to an academy in 2013 joining an established Trust and worked towards improvements in both the behaviour within the school and the facilities available. They have a state of the art new building currently under construction which they are due to move into in February 2020. There is a deep well of affection for the school from within this committed group of professionals that you would be joining as a new member of their team. The curriculum has been completely overhauled to ensure that all students receive a broad, balanced curriculum and can access a pathway at Key Stage 4 that enables them to gain the skills and qualifications so that they can progress onto further study post-16. Extra-curricular activities have been expanded, the school have an Applied Learning afternoon on a Wednesday providing students with the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities including languages, sports, art, music and more. In addition, the school is home to a local Tennis Club and they have five excellent quality courts for daily use. Their sporting pedigree is outstanding and last year they reached a prestigious cup final at U-15 level, a game played on the grand stage of Villa Park. Behaviour levels are good and staff morale is high.

Your new role
This is a full time, permanent teaching post to start in September 2019 or sooner. Duties will include lesson planning, ensuring the pupils are engaged and fulfilling their learning objectives, following the schools' policies and procedures and keeping the classroom tidy. The school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Maths practitioner to join their team and have the capacity to support NQT's fully in their first year.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application you will be an experienced, Maths teacher or a trainee Maths teacher who has had recent experience teaching within a secondary school. You will a person that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. All candidates must be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from their previous employers.
