Our clients are experts in the field of vehicle rescue, recovery and repair and they are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to be based within a two-hour drive time of Wolverhampton. Hours In the role of Automotive Technical Trainer, you will work 35 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role there will be UK travel involved, which will include some overnight stays/weekends. The Role As Technical Trainer you will be assisting with the on-going training and development of the Roadside Technician team for new and existing ; You will be able to train and assess to ATA accreditation standards As Technical Trainer you will undertake the on-going identification, research, construction and delivery of technical and non-technical training courses across specific vehicle manufacturer brands for Roadside ; You will also assist with the ongoing development of new and existing technical information and diagnostic systems. Responsibilities As a Technical Trainer you will source and/or delivery the following, as directed by the Technical Training ; The main tasks and accountabilities of the Technical Trainer will be as follows: • To train, deliver and assess to ATA accreditation standards for Roadside Technicians • Maintain a safe and healthy training environment by following organization standards and legal regulations • Train deliver and assess to IVR core module standards as directed by Technical Training Manager • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment and evaluating new equipment and techniques • Research, develop and deliver ad-hoc technical and non-technical training programmes • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as required • Update all material onto main technical library, updating SharePoint in a timely manner • Contribute and assisting with technician recruitment assessments Product Knowledge • Be fully aware of all processes and procedures within Technical Operations • Ensure that product knowledge is up to date including new technology • Liaise with staff and management of vehicle manufacturers as instructed • Assist in the identification and recommendation of the use of manufacturer training courses Training & Coaching • Where necessary, introduce appropriate training and coaching techniques that best suit the learning group and have the desired outcome. • Liaise with the Operations Management Team to provide training and ongoing support for all employees and implement relevant training solutions as required. Training Needs Analysis • Through regular liaison with the TTM's, Roadside Performance Manager, Learning and Development team and the Operations Management Team identify individual development areas for all staff with a view to improving and maintaining expected standards of performance. • Produce and maintain up to date information on current competencies within Operations in order to provide analysis of existing staff skills and agree development areas with Team Managers and where appropriate, Learning & Development Coaches. Training Records & Literature • Maintain training records, identifying suitability, to both the individual and the relevant departments of all training or development carried out. • Prepare all documentation for training to be delivered and complete all associated administration. • Submit training returns, training assessments and performance monitoring reports to the Technical Training Manager. • Maintain all relevant training documentation, reference guides, hand-outs and department intranet pages through regularly reviewing and publishing updates. The Person For the role of Technical Trainer, you will possess: • Excellent presentation • Proven experience as a Motor Technician or Roadside Assistance Technician • Good fault finding and diagnostic skills • Strong face to face customer liaison skills • Confident telephone manner • Comfortable working on own initiative and as part of a team • Self-motivated and enthusiastic • Knowledge of NVQ, ATA and C&G training processes • Experience of vehicle technologies and sub systems including diagnostics Rewards There is a competitive salary on offer of £33,000 to £35,000 per annum plus bonus and if you are an adaptable, communicative Technical Trainer who is demonstrably able to work well in a team environment and on your own initiative, we'd love to hear from you.
