From April 2018, Homes England has set out on a journey to transform the way we use technology to enable our transition into a 21st century government agency.

To support this transition, Homes England partnered with consultancies to provide additional capacity and capability for an initial one-year period. Our ambition is to enable a fundamental change in the way that the digital agenda is conceived and delivered within the agency.

Our ambitions consider digital delivery from two positions – ensuring Homes England has a strong basic infrastructure supported by good governance; and how we use digital to become a genuinely modern, agile and effective driver in the housing market.

We are now seeking to develop and grow the internal capacity to support and embed this work as the agency embarks on the next significant phase of transformation.

The Assistant Director Delivery (Digital) will be responsible for leading the Digital Development and Digital Change Programmes within Homes England, which are key in our future organisation transformation.

This exciting new role will work closely with the Chief Executive, Directors Group, Transformation Lead and Chief Digital and Technology Officer to continuously shape the priorities and direction to champion user centred design and a healthy open culture of change.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a talented individual to play a key role alongside the leadership team in transforming an organisation with ambitious plans.

We are looking for a talented individual capable of leading a software development team and ensuring that objectives, goals and commitments are met.

Our successful candidate will provide thought leadership and advocacy for organisational change as well as lead a multi-disciplinary team of programme, portfolio and agile specialists to enable work stream leads to a more iterative, user centred way of working.

You will also have a demonstrable track record of leading transformational programmes within a complex, fast paced and ambiguous environment as well as strong knowledge of agile methods are essential.

In addition, we would expect you to have a solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in Agile Project Management tools and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.

Working Flexibly - At Homes England we have a strong culture of flexible working and encourage all employees to have a healthy work/life balance.  We offer a wide range of potential working patterns, including part time, job share and compressed hours.
