About the role:

Reporting to the Oldham PFI Manager, the Apprentice Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety and repair to our estates, blocks and schemes, including community centres. You will work within the Oldham PFI Housing Team but also closely within the Customer Services Directorate to ensure we offer attractive places to live and work for our customers and the wider community.

About You:

The successful candidate will be qualified to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths and have experience of working in a customer focused environment, with a proven ability of delivering a high standard of customer service.

You should have a good understanding of health and safety and Safe working practices and have a willingness to undertake accredited training and to coach others where applicable. You should be able to carry out basic administration and able to use Microsoft Office and other IT systems / programmes.

You must be able to work flexibly and when needed outside normal working hours to ensure service continuity as well as a willingness to work unsociable hours and Bank Holidays.

You may have experience of the following: Apprenticeship, Caretaker, Maintenance Operative, Handyman, Repairs, Health and Safety, DIY, Estates Management, COSHH, Health and Safety, Facilities Management etc.
