Bishop's Stortford
£20,000 - £24,999
23 May 2019
27 May 2019
Contract Type
Full Time
Part-Time Office & Accounts Administrator required for a lovely company in Bishop's Stortford! This is a great company to work for, with:
  • A nice, friendly atmosphere
  • Casual dress code
  • Flexible working hours (see below)
  • A stable company
  • Low staff turnover (this position is vacant due to retirement)

Although this is an administrative role, the elements of accounts in the role make this suitable for someone at an accounts assistant level.

You will primarily be responsible for shipping reports which calculate and record all goods and freight charges in order to raise sales invoices. The full role will include:
  • Preparing manifests for vessels
  • Creating invoices from manifests and inputting invoices onto sales ledger
  • Reconciling manifests to invoices raised and agree manifests to PO & general ledger
  • Producing Certificates of Shipments
  • Raising freight invoices for customers in the UK and issuing documentation
  • Preparing statements & ensuring payment of invoices are received (credit control but mainly internal & therefore minimal)
  • Inputting supplier invoices onto Sage
  • Printing, coding, and posting online statements & invoices
  • Resolving queries (relating to manifests, payments, receipts etc.)
  • Stationary stock & orders
  • Raising & posting Journal vouchers to Sage

You will also be required to cover the Financial Analyst as and when needed, which will include:
  • Raising BACS or priority payments through online banking system
  • Supplier payment runs
  • Set up new users onto bank
  • Online banking quarterly charges
  • Ensure cashbook entries are posted through Sage

The successful candidate will have strong administrative experience, including an accounts background, experience in Sage, Excel & online banking, and good commercial acumen. You will also need to be a good team player, and any shipping experience would be great (but by no means essential!).

Please note this is a part-time role, with an estimated 32 hours per week required (although less could work depending on the candidate's experience). The exact working hours are flexible, and my client will be offering a salary of £20,000pa (based on 32 hours per week INCLUDING lunch breaks, essentially 4 days per week).

Please also note this role will have a start date of Sep/Oct 2019, so would suit someone looking to start work after the summer, or perhaps somebody who is currently temping or working a contract.
