Fantastic opportunities have arisen for experienced Seniors to join one of the most successful and respected providers of Children's Residential Services in the North of the UK. The provider offers short-term Crisis Intervention Placements through to long-term Residential Care for young individuals subjected to abuse, neglect or exploitation and who display Emotional, Behavioural and Social Difficulties.

I am looking to speak with proactive, resilient and energetic individuals who have strongleadership experience in supporting vulnerable looked-after young people in Residential Care. If you are a confident individual with strong emotional intelligence and communicative techniques; this is a fantastic opportunity for career enhancement!

With multiple Ofsted Registered services within the Carlisle area, you would become a valued member of a highly specialised staff team who offer Adventurous Activity Plans and Creative Care Packages within the Homes' natural environments. Therapeutic activities include; fell walking, mountaineering, paddle boarding, archery, canoeing and many more!

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the management of the home in developing the skills and potential of residential support workers.
  • Take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts.
  • Work within and ensure effective delivery of the policies and procedures in the home, and the organisation.
  • Oversee, supervise and develop the skills of staff in their daily working practice.
  • Promote and actively encourage the delivery of a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team both within the home and with external agencies.
  • Ensure staffs are aware of and deliver the support required to ensure the life chance opportunities of children and young people are met in relation to their social, educational, leisure, emotional, physical and cultural needs.
  • Ensure the delivery of all key worker areas and responsibilities.
  • Ensure a variety of intervention strategies are utilised in relation to behaviour management.
  • Where required deputise in the absence of the management of the home.

Must Haves;
  • NVQ Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent)
  • Previous Residential Child Care Experience
  • Flexibility for shift work (weekdays/weekends/sleep-ins)
  • A confident, encouraging and resilient character
  • Full UK Driving License

*This is a full-time permanent position on a rolling rota covering 168 hours per month.

My client is committed to safeguarding the young people in their care, this vacancy will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and multiple reference requests. Salary will be dependent on the level of qualifications and experience the applicant holds. Detailed salary is based on an everage of 9 sleeps per month at £63 per sleep.
