Fantastic opportunities have arisen to join one of the most successful and respected providers of Children's Residential Services in the North of the UK. The provider offers short-term Crisis Intervention Placements through to long-term Residential Care for young individuals subjected to abuse, neglect or exploitation and who display Emotional, Behavioural and Social Difficulties.

I am looking to speak with proactive, resilient and energetic individuals who have strong experience in supporting vulnerable looked-after young people in Residential Care. If you are a confident individual with strong emotional intelligence and communicative techniques; this is a fantastic opportunity for career enhancement!

With multiple Ofsted Registered services encircling the North Pennines, you would become a valued member of a highly specialised staff team who offer Adventurous Activity Plans and Creative Care Packages within the Homes' natural environments. Therapeutic activities include; fell walking, mountaineering, paddle boarding, archery, canoeing and many more!

Key Responsibilities
  • Alongside team staff, provide a high standard of care for the young people in your charge
  • To ensure that all aspects of a young person's physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs are met as individuals and within the setting, actively assisting each young person towards achieving a realistic level of success in their targets and goals during placement and beyond.
  • To lead activities, appropriate to your qualifications and experience
  • Where no programme exists for the days you are working, identify activities in which the young person can be engaged in line with specified ethos and guideline documents
  • To encourage the young people to participate in the activities.
  • To participate in activities as either a leader or participant as appropriate.
  • To be alert to signs of distress or abuse and to ensure young people are monitored and protected.
  • To provide a positive role model to young people and maintain high professional standards at all times.
  • To attend reviews and planning meetings when required.
  • To supervise contact and professional visits as required.

Must Haves;
  • 2 years Previous Residential Child Care Experience
  • Flexibility for shift work (weekdays/weekends/sleep-ins)
  • Full UK Driving License
  • A proactive, enthusiastic and resilient character

*This is a full-time permanent position on a rolling rota covering 168 hours per month.

My client is committed to safeguarding the young people in their care, this vacancy will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and multiple reference requests.

Salary will be dependent on the level of qualifications and experience the applicant holds. Detailed salary is based on an average of 9 sleeps per month at £63 per sleep.
