Our Flexible Working Environment
The full time role has the potential to be split into two parts and can accommodate flexible working patterns.  There is a need to be present in the office at times, particularly around the part time office managers working days and other key events and dates in the EFTC calendar

Salary: depending on hours/experience up to £14.00 per hour

Education for the Children Foundation,, is a fundraising foundation which runs a school in Jocotenango, Guatemala which works to break the cycle of poverty through education and empowerment.

We have approximately sixty staff working at the School of Hope at any one time. Our vision is to provide children and young people from impoverished backgrounds with quality education and empower them to become motivated, confident and employable.

Moving on to further education and rewarding employment will improve their quality of life and help them break free from the poverty that has blighted generations in this area. They will become leaders of change in their communities and inspire future generations.

What we offer
Working in a small, lively team, you will be an integral part of the office but have the flexibility to work remotely at times. Your role will support our team over in Guatemala, making an impact on the lives of over 750 children and their families.

What you’ll be doing

The finance part of the role is all about keeping us on top of the many sponsor payments and grants that we are given.  You’ll manage these payments, identify unpaid pledges, claim gift aid, raise invoices, manage petty cash and create month end accounts for the whole Foundation and assist the external account with the end of year accounts.  You’ll work with the team to create P&Ls for all our events. Anything finance you’ll be involved in along with the upkeep of our CRM tool, Salesforce.

The administrative assistant part will do a wide range of office based tasks, managing all the day to day office jobs when the Manager is on her days off.  There will be events to help arrange and assist at and all manner of fundraising activities to help coordinate.

You enjoy a team work and a variety of tasks.  No day is ever the same!
You’ll enjoy working over time zones with colleagues in Guatemala.

For the finance role you’ll have knowledge of QuickBooks and month end reporting.  Knowledge of Salesforce is valuable too.

The admin assistant candidate should be up for anything that is thrown at them including helping at events and fundraising and bringing creative ideas to the table.
