Position: Dementia Support Manager
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Contract type: Part time, Permanent
Hours: 28 per week
Salary: £18,591 actual per annum

About the role:

You will be joining a team passionate about making a difference to the lives of people affected by dementia in Hertfordshire. The Dementia Support Manager provides day to day direct support to a team of Dementia Support Workers who are predominantly community based. The team work with people from post diagnosis stage to enable to access resources to live well with dementia.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will need to be a well-motivated and resourceful person with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a busy environment.

You will have an in-depth knowledge and experience or understanding of the impact of dementia on people’s lives. Whilst recruiting to, supporting and managing your staff team, you will be ready to ensure they meet the high standards expected of Alzheimer’s Society teams and have the skills and knowledge to deliver quality services.

You will support Service Managers to meet contract requirements and will be confident in representing the service at external meetings across Hertfordshire. You will always champion the rights of people affected by dementia and work collaboratively with partners and people affected by dementia to ensure their voice is heard. You will be IT literate with an ability to absorb report information in order to drive continuous improvements. You will require a qualification equivalent to an NVQ Level 3 or above and experience of working in the voluntary or care sector is desirable.
