What it's about

Do you have experience leading the implementation of business change activities in a complex business setting?

As a Change Lead you will be able to identify the change needs at the senior stakeholder level within projects and business units. You will have the ability to plan, structure and influence relevant stakeholders to create alignment.

The Change Lead role will work within the Change Team to identify best solutions and approaches, working autonomously when analysing and making the case for a change to aspects of the existing business operating model.

What you'll be doing

Strategic Programme Delivery:

· Support the design of innovative change management approaches and interventions for strategic programmes to maximise impact and benefits delivery in collaboration with the transformation/people team

· Deliver the change management activity to support key strategic projects including: project planning of the change management activity, define and measure the success metrics, managing the process of gathering change impacts, managing resources to deliver the change, delivering/managing the communications required and ensuring that action plans for sustaining the change are in place post implementation

· Develop key middle/senior stakeholder relationships to ensure effective organizational buy-in and leadership

Business unit strategic change partnering:

· Support the senior leadership teams within each business unit in scoping and planning their strategic change initiatives in collaboration with the transformation/people team

· Provide consulting and delivery support on key change programmes

· Provide senior stakeholders coaching and support to lead change programmes

· Consult with wider transformation/people team on strategic programme delivery requirements of communications, resourcing, performance management, organization design and learning & development interventions.

Change Management capability development:

· Support the development of an innovative change management service offer for CA and an implementation toolkit to build capability across the business

· Develop and embed an approach for the evaluation of change activities; including contributing to measures of transformational change in collaboration with other members of the transformation/people team

· Develop and embed a number of change management communities of interest to drive capability development across Cambridge Assessment; in collaboration with the transformation and HR team

· To support or lead significant organisational initiatives to support cultural & organisational change in line with Group values, including the identification of impact of changes on processes, policy and structure

Process Re-engineering service offering:

· Support the development of an agreed operational process mapping standard to bring consistency to the levels of operational mapping for our strategic products and processes

· Support the development of process reengineering capability across the organisation

· Support the design and delivery of process reengineering to drive strategic change in line with group strategy aims and objectives)


What we're looking for

The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with all colleagues across Cambridge Assessment and will be able to build and maintain strong working relationships. They will be highly driven, motivated and enjoy the challenge.


· Educated to first degree level or equivalent.

· A formal qualification in change management or equivalent experience


· Ability to lead and facilitate decisions between Business and Project Staff.

· Proven change manager.

· Effective negotiating and diplomacy especially:-

o working collaboratively with partners, suppliers and other stakeholders

o maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Strong listening skills

· Decision making and problem solving

· Confidence when dealing with uncertainty

· Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to build collaborative decision making groups.

· Competent user level expertise in IT.

· Thorough understanding of change management approaches and methodologies.

· Detailed understanding of the complexities involved when managing inter-dependent technology and process changes to realise truly 'IT-enabled' business change.

· Experience of delivering IT enabled change in a complex project environment

· Strong understanding of internal assessment models, operational models, processes and procedures.

· Knowledge of Cambridge Assessment and its products desirable.

· An awareness of the key features and challenges within the international and competitive context in which Cambridge Assessment operates, including the nature of the relationship between the business and its centres/customers.



· It is expected that the post holder will have significant experience leading or managing the implementation of business change activities in a complex business setting.
