Due to significant investment an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Infection Prevention Service team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

The link between infection prevention, intravenous therapy and sepsis has been recognised within the organisation resulting in all these services coming under one umbrella of the Infection Prevention Service.

The Infection Prevention Service is seeking to appoint a full time Senior Infection Prevention Service Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge, experience and learn new skills within a dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a sound knowledge of clinical nursing, excellent clinical skills and experience working in the field of infection prevention would be an advantage. You will need to be able to empower staff and facilitate effective infection prevention practice within the organisation. Part of this role will be the insertion of central vascular devices; an interest in this area would be essential however experience is not required as full training will be provided.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are vital, with an ability to motivate others, prioritise your workload and have a positive approach due to the challenging work, as no two days are the same.

As the service covers off site facilities, community sites as well as the Stepping Hill site driving is an essential part of the role.

You will be required to work to high standards maintaining a high quality finish to aspects of your work. The post is full time, 37.5hours, currently Monday- Friday although this will change in the future to include weekend working. There is also the need for flexibility as there may be early starts, late finishes on some days, with advanced notice.

If successful this vacancy will require an Enhanced DBS check at a cost of £48.43. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
