The Organisation: CareTech Community Services is a national provider of support for people with complex behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and also in residential care.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team in Y Felinheli. You must be able to demonstrate a reliable and flexible approach to people with a broad spectrum of mental health diagnoses & learning difficulties and have the confidence to handle complex behaviours that can at times be challenging. You will be reporting to the Service Manager and will be responsible for a team of Support Workers. You will also be required to support individuals to attend appointments, college and various other activities in the community. These activities can be in or outdoors, such as walking, swimming, fishing or the gym etc. You will also be asked to attend internal and external meetings and often liaise with a range of professionals involved with the individual's support. We are providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have fulfilled lives and gaining further independence.

A Full driving licence would be beneficial but isn't essential. You will need to be flexible as you will be required to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and also sleep ins. There is a bus service a short walk from the service and these run regularly between Bangor and Caernarfon. Due to the support needs, we sometimes require staff to assist with shift cover at other sites in the local area.

Main duties & responsibilities:
•To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities
•To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality
•To support service users with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events
•To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required
•To work as part of a team to provide high quality care
•You will need to demonstrate an ability to be person centred

The successful candidate for the role of Senior Support Worker will have:

- The ability to keep calm under pressure
- Experience to work alone and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- The passion to work with vulnerable Adults
- The desire and commitment to achieve high
standards of safeguarding
- Previous experience is essential and full training will be given.
- NVQ Level 3 and above in Health & Social Care
- Bilingual Welsh/English speakers highly desirable
