Portakabin are Europe's market leader in modular building. Join our team in Northampton as a Sales and Business Development Manager and you could be part of this growing business.

In this field sales role based from our Northampton Hire & Visitor Centre, you will be responsible for winning business in the Northampton catchment area. The role is target driven and the key focus is on order winning activity.

Is this role for me?

We're looking for a self-motivated experienced salesperson with the drive and determination to achieve competitive sales targets. Experience of technical sales would be advantageous but isn't essential.

The following experience/skills are also an essential requirement for this role:
  • A minimum of two years plus experience of face to face selling, business to business.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of selling a technical product through a consultative sales process.
  • A proven track record in winning new business.
  • Experience of carrying out a business development campaign.
  • Ability to be self- motivated, driven and tenacious with a competitive nature.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

What are the key duties?

As a Sales and Business Development Manager you'll design, create and implement a successful business development campaign for the Northampton area in order to promote the company's hire business to prospective clients.

You will also:
  • Generate orders by attending face to face customer visits.
  • Target clients across a range of sectors to include education and healthcare.
  • Convert opportunities to orders and be able to meet sales targets.
  • Account management of existing customer base.
  • Carry out structured business development, generating fresh initiatives to heighten local awareness and maximise conversion of direct enquiries.
  • Updating sales database/CRM system to manage live opportunities and customer information.
  • Ensure customer contact is made once product is on hire to ensure maximum satisfaction, continuity of business and maximise referral opportunities.
