We are seeking applicants for a manager role within our Strategic Communications team, to serve as Head of Strategic Communications Planning. The role offers the opportunity to gain valuable leadership and strategic communications experience at the heart of Government.

You will lead the team tasked with strategic planning and cross-Whitehall coordination for the DExEU Communications and Stakeholders directorate, working with stakeholders across Whitehall.

The work will involve driving the Department’s long and short term approaches with regards to communications and engagement. A key part of the role will involve representing DExEU to senior Government stakeholders and across Departments.

It will be critical to be able to produce high quality work to tight deadlines on a regular basis. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering in a fast-paced and flexible working environment. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability and pragmatism in their applications.

Key tasks include:

  • Help develop long-term strategic communications planning by managing long-term planning tools to ensure coordination across DExEU.
  • Lead high-level planning meetings for DExEU to discuss past and forthcoming activity and implications.
  • Liaise with 10 Downing Street and other Government departments (particularly FCO, UKREP Brussels and DIT), representing DExEU at strategic communications planning meetings.
  • Schedule and coordinate DExEU communications delivery with the communications, Parliamentary team, Private Offices and wider government strategic communications teams.
