The role

We're on the hunt for a passionate and driven developer to join our team and write top quality code for our websites and mobile apps. You will work in our growth squad, who are constantly looking for ways to reach more users and provide them with a better experience. You will write lots of experiments to test out what works well for users and what doesn’t. You will need to be javascript master, with a passion for prototyping and hacking experiments together quickly. Ad tech experience would be a big bonus.

What you'll do

  • Write code, predominantly javascript, HTML, CSS and possibly some PHP / Rails
  • Work with product managers to identify and technically assess experiments
  • Design solutions that fit in with our overall technical stack
  • Peer review and quality check work to make sure we have beautifully crafted code
  • Help, teach and mentor junior members of the team
  • Continue to develop your coding abilities and learn new skills
  • Write technical specs and developer documentation
  • Plan and estimate development work

What we're looking for

  • A good degree or formal training (coding bootcamp) in a computing field
  • 2+ years experience coding gained through employment
  • Excellent Javascript experience both native and using popular frameworks (jquery)
  • Experience of ad tech: DFP and best practice setup, header bidding and working with multiple providers; optimising ad revenue, reducing impact on page speed, protecting against attacks/malware/phishing
  • Experience developing desktop, mobile and responsive websites
  • A drive to deliver high quality, right first time code
  • A good eye for design detail and finesse
  • Experience working with : Git / Mac OS / Linux

It’d be nice if you had

  • Experience of PHP / Rails / Java
  • Experience managing / mentoring junior developers
  • Experience working for an online publishing organisation

This role is envisaged as full-time and based in our offices in Kentish Town, however we're happy to consider flexible options for the right candidate.
