Sales Engineer position - External sales for an award-winning Industrial Distributor, providing a solution to manufacturing facilities, factories, processing plants and sites across your territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • This is a Sales Engineer role, covering the Western M4 and Central M5 area, focused around the Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Cheltenham and Gloucester areas.
  • As the Sales Engineer, you will be selling the full range of Control and Automation products facilities across the patch. You will also be selling the full range of Electrical, Lighting, HVAC, MRO and PPE products.
  • Meeting with various size business, from small processing plants to large multinational manufacturers in various sectors.
  • You could be meeting with workshop managers, purchasing departments, members of the board or other stakeholders within the procurement process.
  • The Sales Engineer will inherit a portfolio of existing accounts which they will be expected to manage effectively.
  • You will also be expected to seek new business throughout your territory, ranging from one off product sales to large on-going contracts for MRO or Control and Automation products.
  • There is an internal team to support the external Sales Engineers, along with a senior team of National Account Managers for certain technical expertise.

For this position, you must have the following:

  • It is essential that you have previous experience of a technical product sale to industrial customers.
  • You must have a proven track record in account management and new business with industrial customers, such as OEM's, manufacturers, factories, processing facilities or plants.
  • A background of sales with Control and Automation products would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
  • You must have strong IT and CRM experience, this is an essential requirement for your application.
  • It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.
